If you guys don't already know about it: pokemonshowdown.com/Enable cookies, make teams, and play instantly. It bypasses the fact that Pokebank keeps getting delayed -.-

For those in North America, Pokebank is finally out if anyone didn't know that yet. So everyone in the world should have it now. Also, if anyone wants to battle or trade let me knooow! My friend code is 5386 - 8446 - 6944. I've finally caught all 718 Pokemon and obtained the shiny charm! I've been breeding Ralts the past three days now with the Masuda method for a shiny one (because shiny mega gardevoir looks amazing) and I already got myself a beautiful shiny Sylveon, so anyone who would like to battle I'd love to try him out Also, if anyone needs any Pokemon I can breed them for you (aside from legendaries of course because that's not possible sans Phione, which I can do for you)! Nature and all! Just let me know! Wonder if anyone is still playing this game ._.

I reeeeally need X and Y. I'd love to battle/trade with you if I had it! Thing is, I'm still intent on beating B2 before moving on to the next generation or it's just gonna bug me. XD
I ran into my first shiny ever in B2 - an Azurill. Except I was playing a 2nd hand copy and the previous owner had a save file, and I didn't realize that you have to delete that save file first before you can save your current game. So... yeah. Sob. My first shiny ever, down the drain because of some technical issue. It still hurts whenever I run into an Azurill D:

Oh my gosh that's so sad T___T Azumarill is such a great Pokemon in gen 6, too...
Sai, beat B2! Get X or Y! GO! NOW! RAR! XD

Has anyone been keeping up with the newest viral phenomenon, Twitch Plays Pokemon? In a nutshell, roughly 80,000 people are watching a stream of Pokemon and "playing" it by inputting commands (left, right, start, a, b, etc.) which then translates into the game. It's utter chaos, but they're 8 days in and managed to get quite far! It's meant to be a social experiment, and the results have been pretty damn entertaining so far. It's nearly spawned a new religion, even!

Anyone else HYPED for the omega ruby/alpha sapphire remakes coming out in November? X/Y's single player was kinda meh for me. I liked the breeding mechanics, friend safari and the Looker post-game quest (highlight of X/Y for me), but the game was... just kinda adequate from start to champion.
Ruby/Sapphire on the other hand, I know are awesome from start to champion. The only thing that prevents me from going back and playing those games are the Gen 3 mechanics, but those games would be awesome with updated mechanics. I'm also looking forward to seeing what post-game things there is to do as well as tutor moves.

Gen 3 is my favorite, and I totally understand what you said about the X/Y story being a bit lackluster. I am beyond excited for ORAS. The megas that have been shown so far look great (and I'm especially pumped for Mega Metagross, who has been a favorite of mine since gen 3 came out because Steven is my favorite champion). I'm hoping that Mega Sharpedo, Camerupt, Glalie or Walrein, and Dusknoir will be announced given each of the E4 members have a mega stone and so do the Team Aqua/Magma bosses. I'm also kind of wishing for a Mega Cacturne and a Mega Flygon :<
The upcoming months will require me to dish out quite a bit of money (money I don't have ^^") for whichever ORAS game I decide to get, Nana's new single, and a Wii U for Smash 4 e.e

The one thing I liked story-wise was the rival. The first fight was cool because they hyped Serena (or the male equivalent) to be really good and every time you think you had an opportunity to fight her, they postponed it. So you didn't really get to fight her until quite a ways into the game. Then when you finally do, it's this high stakes battle for the mega ring. The build-up to that fight was pretty awesome
Mega Sharpedo would be interesting (or nightmarish) if they gave it an ability other than Speed Boost. Imagine something like Sheer Force, where Sharpedo would grab a few speed boosts via normal Sharpedo, then mega evolve. I guess it'll be OK since the counters will pretty much be the same
My fav new mega is Sceptile. I find mega Audino kinda scary. I like regular Salamence more than its mega. I'm not too fond of Altaria though its mega looks alright. Mega Slowbro is derpy as usual, I like I like.
Did you do a lot of breeding in XY? My goal is to breed a competitively viable team in the 4 smogon tiers (excluding ubers) by the time Pokemon Z (or X2 Y2 or whatever) come out. My definition of "viable" is 1400 rating, but I may have to revise that as my crappy in-game team is winning in OU against 1400 players. It's kinda sad that my serious teams are only marginally better than my random-ass in-game teams

I'm in the middle of Y now - near-ish to the end, I just beat the Anistar gym. The story is okay so far, but feels pretty... basic? I know I haven't gotten to the usual climax with the legendaries and all that, so I might change my tune, but I felt like B/W was a huge step-up in storytelling for the series, and X/Y's kind of been a step down. I mean, honestly, no Pokemon game's ever drawn me in just for the story, or had exceptionally compelling/deep characters, but B/W was very enjoyable and the execution was better than most Pokemon games.
That being said, I do like X/Y's world. Kalos is gorgeous and well-realized. Though I do feel (and I felt this way with 5th Gen too, actually) that the dungeons/routes are getting shorter and shorter, which is kind of a shame, haha. And, I know people have made this complaint about X/Y before, but yeah, they really did make it waaay too easy. Wonder Trade, the revamped EXP Share, Pokemiles, the later tiers of the Battle Chateau, etc. make it way too easy to have an overpowered team. There's really no way to lose a battle if you take advantage of all of those things... which I don't for the record, haha.
I'm not at all a competitive battler, thus my understanding/appreciation of the mechanics are rudimentary at best, so I can't really comment there xD.
The megas have been really hit-or-miss for me, design-wise. And it seems like some of them are fairly unnecessary? I mean, as I mentioned, I'm not a competitive battling guru, but pokemon like Salamance, Metagross, Mewtwo, Garchomp, etc. already far outstrip most Pokemon in terms of power, do they really need more?
That being said, my wishlist for 3rd gen Megas would be Tropius, Delcatty, Masquerain, and maybe for the Lunatone/Solrock duo? I like all of those Pokemon and want to use them, and this'd be nice incentive!

Completely spot on IMO. Kalos as a region is amazing, but XY was a bit of a letdown after BW's story. As for the dungeons, I think BW and XY were going for a lesser reliance on HMs, so there are less complicated puzzles in the dungeons
I heard about Exp Share neutering the game difficulty so I made sure not to use it until after the champion fight. The difficulty was alright as far as Pokemon games go. I heard that people who got the game when it first came out got a Torchic given to them so they were able to speed boost through the game with Mega Blaziken, lol
I'm convinced they don't give megas out of necessity. They just mega whatever the hell they want. Some megas boost the viability of a weak pokemon. Some turn middling pokemon into powerhouses. Some are, as you said, boosts to already powerful pokemon that don't need it, though in some cases the pokemon has to give something up in order to obtain that power (Gyarados loses Intimidate and gains a kinda crappy typing, Garchomp loses speed, Alakazam loses Magic Guard and the ability to hold Focus Sash).
After some thought, the only mega I want is Mega Feraligatr, but that is wishful thinking and simply won't happen

I'm really excited for omega ruby/alpha sapphire, since I had a break from pokemon and never got to play those generations. I haven't also played any of the remakes of past games so it'll be a new experience for me!
I've like the little innovations they've added in the past games so I'm looking forward to seeing what new things they may add in this time!

I'm gonna be the odd one here and say that I didn't like BW's story. I thought that Gens 5 and 6 were BOTH story letdowns, but maybe I'm just strange. noknuckles , I was breeding before I beat the game because I'm crazy. I have about forty or so EV trained Pokemon (no real feat in X/Y, but a few of them came from my Soul Silver version), and a few that have pentaperfect IVs. I forget what my main team is for XY off the top of my head, but I remember using a Goodra and my beloved shiny Mega Gardevoir :3 With the Power Items and Horde Encounters, making a competitive team in X/Y is a matter of like, a few hours. I would love to battle you sometime!

Yeah, EV training is really easy and nice in XY. I did a lot of EV training in Black2. With the new breeding mechanics, I've kinda stopped using my old team (I have just over a box full of EV trained pokemon with imperfect IVs).
I now have around 12-13 pokemon with 5 perfect IV and they have no synergy together, I was just breeding whatever I felt like breeding. With perfect IVs in relevant stats, I know exactly what I can outspeed so that's nice. I'm just kinda gathering pokemon from various egg groups so that when I transfer them over to ORAS, I'll get the "They seem to get along" message at the daycare, which will speed things up a little.
We can meet in one of the dead channels on pokemon showdown sometime later this week. I'm open to playing either showdown or cart, though I'd prefer cart.
