And don't forget not an opinion but a fact that Nana sounds way better live than she does on records =) Mentioned Eternal Blaze for example is pretty mediocre song for me but all the crowd and fire makes it awesome! Like this ^_^

Hi everyone! I'm glad to see that the forum seems to have such a steady group of people now. I guess, considering I've been gone for such a long while, that I should probably reintroduce myself here right? ^^;; I'm sorry about being gone for so long though, and I hope you all can forgive me! I've been lurking over every once in awhile, but I'm going to try and get back into the thick of things. I'm going to start catching up with our wonderful Nana-sama ASAP.
So, I hoping it isn't too late to join in all the recent Nana fun?

Woops. I forgot to introduce myself, I was just so excited to join this community! I should get to that! XD
So, my name's Dylan. I generally go by the internet name of Hotori-kun though, after my favorite anime character, Hotori Tadase from Shugo Chara!. Call me whichever you like. I'm 18, and I'm from the east coast United States. I first discovered Nana in late 2008 in both Shugo Chara! and Rosario to Vampire simultaneously, and I fell in love with her voice. Since then, I've been collecting her singles, albums, and concerts, and I now have quite the collection on my bookshelf (plus the two awesome Live Games posters framed on my wall! Wooo!). My favorite Nana song is the first single that I heard from her, "Astrogation"; however, I keep an updated top 100 favorite Nana songs list in my Itunes library. Nana's music helped me find an identity going through high school, and a great deal of the person I am today is the result of finding Nana's music. I someday hope I can go to Japan to actually be at a concert instead of simply watching them on my blu ray player and TV, which I bought specifically to watch Nana concerts (haha XD). Aside from Nana, I also love other artists/groups such as Chihara Minori, Tamura Yukari, Faylan, Kawada Mami, KOTOKO, MELL, DaisyxDaisy (Mika-chan!), Ayane, Kawase Tomoko (I prefer her Tommy februrary6 persona), Perfume, capsule, Morning Musume, Berryz Koubou, Buono!, Kikkawa Yuu, Aso Natsuko, ALI PROJECT, m.o.v.e, Goto Maki, Hayashibara Megumi, and Whitney Houston (Yeah, I don't really dive into English music all that much but no one can deny how fantastic her voice was). I have two anime tied for my favorite: Kodomo no Omocha and Shugo Chara!. I also love Fruits Basket and Code Geass. I'm a Nintendo fanboy, and I love the Legend of Zelda series, as well as the Pokemon franchise. In the fall, I'm going to be starting my major in English with a concentration in creative writing. I hope to one day teach high school English, become an author, and learn Japanese (aside from transliteration, which I'm already pretty good at). Hopefully I can accomplish the latter goal as I progress through university. I also enjoy role playing on Gaiaonline, where my profile is always dedicated to promoting Nana's latest releases. Haha.
So that's me in a nutshell I suppose! If you want to know where some of your favorite Nana songs rank on my personal list just ask, although I'll be making an update once my copy of "BRIGHT STREAM" comes in the mail (and I exclude all character songs that haven't gotten a major release in my list). I crush my girlfriend's dreams when I tell her that "Polaris" is #59, so hopefully I don't crush yours XD. I'm just glad I got her into Nana in the first place, though XD
Since it's such a hot topic, it seems, I'll say that "Mugen" is #26 as of this current list XD. I loved that song the moment I heard it!

Top 100? How, holy cow?! I kinda gave up trying to do top 10 ;D How do you differ position 80 from 81 for example? Like "I jumped 5 cms higher listening to this song"? =) Oh I remember that one, because I was like "mmm where that one came from hmmm" watching journey That's pretty much all I remember about it lol so it was nothing special it seems, so you can say your girlfriend that some nasty anonymous on the net also said that Polaris is no good so she falls in the depths of despair and you can do anything to her muhaha ;D Btw, how do you rank eternal blaze and innocent starter? I think these songs don't deserve the popularity they have...

Actually, I love "Polaris". Ahahaha. My girlfriend always tells me that if the songs are lower on the list it means I don't like them. In fact, I LOVE every one of her songs, and the fact that some are higher than others should just show that those songs in the top 10 are songs I am absolutely crazy about. Making top 10/25/50/100 lists is just a hobby of mine that I do for every artist I listen to, but only Nana has a top 100. It's fun! And yes, as the list gets into the lower rankings it is much more difficult to determine which ones I like more, but I manage to do it and I am satisfied with the results. Ok, as of June "Innocent Starter" is #70 (Don't hate me!) and "ETERNAL BLAZE" is, actually, #8. I know, they are incredibly far apart. There's something about EB that I just love though, and I think the concert popularity really makes it that much more fun to listen to. I mean, it's like her signature song, and so I feel like I'm a part of something when listening to it. But, I think "ETERNAL BLAZE" and "Innocent Starter" are so popular because they're the songs that truly launched Nana into the popularity that she has today. "Innocent Starter" gave her her first top 10 single, and "ETERNAL BLAZE" reached #2 on the weekly charts. Nanoha songs are usually fan favorites, those two especially; although, people seem to have problems with "MASSIVE WONDERS" and that ranks as my #3, so go figure. Ahaha.

Nothing strange here, when I was saying they do not deserve popularity they got I didn't mean they are close to each other. Actually your judgment rather close to mine. Even though I won't rate eternal blaze that high it's still a decent song sitting tightly in my "like" category, it's just not grand enough to be her title song imo. I personally want to see power gate as one. Not that power gate is my most favorite song by her, but I like it way more than eternal blaze and it's the only candidate for the title song Innocent starter on the other hand... I don't understand it's popularity. It's mediocre at best for me, if not boring. Sure I know the place it occupies in her career but isn't it all history now? If she wants a history lesson that much she'd better sing Tsugazakura more, that time at academy was outstanding ;D Really? Hm I wonder why it's a great and moving song and surely among my favorites. Though in turn I noticed that almost no one likes Pray, which would make it to my top 5 surely if I had one =) The problem is, there are more than 5 songs that "would make it into my top 5" lol ;D How to chose only 5? It's beyond me =)

Hey guys! New member here! I'm 20 and I'm from Brazil!
It'll be an honor to chat to all of you about Nana-san! Without further ado, let's talk a little about my history regarding this great singer.
The first time I stumbled upon Nana-san was when watching Basilisk (on a side-note, I'm really into anime and so on), I think it was 2006/2007, can't remember... At that time I just thought that the ED themes were amazing (the OP theme is also very good but no one beats Nana-san), but how I was just starting to listen to anisong I didn't pay that much attention.
The next step was watching Rosario to Vampire, and this time it really hit me. DISCOTHEQUE! What an amazing catching song and such well composed (I'm not making light of Nana-san's vocals, but at that moment, I was really interested in figuring out the bass line... yep, I'm a bass player), so I promptly downloaded Trickster's single. I loved it and it also was the only Nana-san's material that I had in my PC for quite a time.
But then, a miraculous day came and I thought "Why not watch her performing Trickster live?". LIVE DIAMOND X FEVER had just been released and so as fate wanted I chose Trickster from LIVE FEVER. Before watching the video it occurred to me "the studio version is amazing, I doubt she can sing at least close to it live" and for my happiness I was utterly wrong. When I finished watching the video I was speechless!! Wow, she's amazing!! Really amazing!! Right after that, I download both DIAMOND and FEVER and watched them... Although I barely knew 5 or 6 tunes I'd never felt so pleased watching a live! Like I had noticed earlier, the compositions are great (especially if you compare with normal pop music and general anisong) and of course, Nana-san can be considered flawless. It was at the beginning of 2010, since then... Well, I think everyone who's a fan knows what happened. ^^
Just one more thing: I really love Nana-san as a singer and of course as a person (judging from what I can know about her not living in Japan), but I clearly admit that I love to the same extent (or even more)her music as a whole. As a musician I cannot surrender to my fanboyness (well, just a little sometimes XD), so for example, I'm the kind of fan who loves when Cherry Boys start jamming on the songs!!
Sorry it was such a long post, but that is it! Pleased to meet everyone!!

Hi, everyone! I'm Myna. I reside on the east coast of the USA and just entered college as a musical theatre major. I've been watching anime for about ten years and have been a Nana fan since middle school. (Hinata is the role I first heard her as and she's still my favorite.) I'm also an anime blogger. Aside from Nana, some of my other favorite Japanese artists include Kalafina, Wakeshima Kanon, and Hikaru Utada. Some of my favorite non-Japanese artists are Adele, Paramore, Paris Combo, Beyonce, and Lady Gaga. Outside of anime, I also like to draw, read, and I also love fashion. That just about sums things up. C:
