The last Harvest Moon I played was Friends of Mineral Town. I haven't touched the one after that, it wasn't the same for me haha. Ahh good times~

XD I was wondering how long till this popped up. HM is like, my #1 guilty pleasure ;D Everyone, including myself seems to have started with the Mineral Town series (though it was Back to Nature for me), and most consider them pretty much the best, which I agree with to a degree. The newer ones are indeed pretty awesome though ;3

Sereyna, that was an amazing picture to open the thread with XDD. Harvest Moon really is a wonderful series to get lost in; a peaceful getaway into a simpler world of farming and saving Goddesses...at least sometimes~
The first proper HM game I played was probably Friends of Mineral town, though I had forayed into the land of GBC1 before, so I'm not sure which one counts. I've played quite a few of the games since, though I'm still a little behind with the most recent ones. Magical Melody was fun, and extremely addictive, while Another Wonderful Life was (albeit long) an interesting look into a village that actually ages. I do have to agree though, FoMT definitely did have the best of everything...
Tree of Tranquility is proving to be a nice little follow up to Magical Melody, with dynamic characters and interesting little proposal events. I can't wait to see what they've done in Animal Parade =D.

I've only played Back to Nature (which is the same as Friends of Mineral Town?), and I loove it. I always court Karen or Popuri. My get rich quick method is chickens.
I've played the one on the gamecube too, but I didn't like the girls much. Especially as my mum gave them all stupid names (which are not appropriate for the internet) and therefore forced my farmer to live a life of celibacy.
Farming? Pfffft. It's all about the girls.

After a while of not playing Harvest Moon, when I played the one on the DS, I got lost on the farm from afternoon till 10 pm at night lol. Couldn't find the house, the farm was huge!
FoMT forever for me <3

It's true it's true, the girls are what make the games. Karen was always my country girl of choice whenever playing FoMT/BTN... even when I'd start a file trying to woo someone else, she was just too distracting D:
relmy, which GC game was it? A Wonderful Life or Magical Melody? And your mom sounds awesome by the way XD

Karen was always my choice too, I love me an alcoholic expensive gifts demanding wife. Plus, she was waaay to good for Rick D< I'd decided that next time I play I would go for Popuri though, I usually string her along to an orange heart or so when I play...=P Once I tried going for Elli, but the scenes with her and the Doctor were so cute ...but they won't sway me when I'm pursuing the doctor!!
It was A Wonderful Life, sadly it was my brother's copy and he sold it. =( Tempted to pick up the PS2 version cheap as I've seen it online for a reasonable price... and my mum isn't here to give my girlfriends names. From what I've read, you HAVE to get married on this one, right?

Yep, AWL kind of forces you into a marriage ^^; As for getting the PS2 version - it's great for a few reasons (a new girl to marry, Lumina, who is my fave <3, the possibility of having a female child, etc.) but awful for one very dominant reason: the lag. For whatever reason, the game lags like hell and makes doing anything on your farm take twice as long as the GC version. I have both copies and I really have to admit that I can hardly get through a day of the PS2 version with how off-putting it is. But I have read that the people, such as myself, who are used to the GC version find the lag worse simply by comparison, so if you... don't really remember the GC version it might not affect you as much? I dunno, I found it pretty awful ^^; And the lag is listed as the game's main flaw in reviews and such. It is cheap though, which is nice. And yeah, srsly, Rick is ew. Karen deserves way better.

Hmm... see I was going for PS2 version for price and because my PS2 is with me, while my GC is boxed up at my mum's. I might have another look for the GC version if it's better then, it's probably a good idea for me to have LESS games to play with me when I'm meant to be working.
Hmmm... the PS1 Back to Nature was really laggy and I somehow managed to deal with that, I'll just see which I can get cheapest.
Elli was always cute, but she was sooo adorable with the Doctor!! When it's the other way round though... I don't mind breaking her heart so I can have him >D
