As some of you may know, Anime Expo, located in Los Angeles, USA, and Anime North, located in Toronto, Canada, are 2 of North America's biggest annual anime conventions!
Is anyone attending? Has anyone attended?
I'm going to Anime Expo this year in July for the first time! I'm so excited! (I saved literally 300$ to buy merch there, LOL.)
I'm hoping that maybe, just maybe, Nana nendoroids or anything Nana could possibly be sold there. c:

I've never been to Anime North, despite living in Canada, but I went to Anime Expo in 2009! It was a lot of fun, but mostly because Morning Musume was attending and putting on a concert. Some of the most fun I've had in my life.
I haven't really been to an anime convention since then, but I'm planning to go to the local Montreal one this year (Otakuthon) because... *drumroll*... Nobuo Uematsu is going to be there, and also will be putting on a small orchestral concert, with tickets only being $10!
So, yeah, you can see what influences me to go to conventions XD
I hope you have fun at AX, though! It's... huge, honestly. So much to buy and look at and participate in. I just wish I had gone with a group of friends though - it was pretty much just me flying to L.A. by myself and meeting up with an online friend there to go to the MM panel and concert, and then some wandering around the venue and buying stuff, but if we had had a big group and made a day of it, it probably would've been really epic.

Wow! Great to hear such an optimistic view on AX! I'm even pumped up more now and seriously can't wait another 2 months!
Did you see any Nana merch while you were there, Sai?

Not that I remember, but I was only really vaguely into Nana at that point, so I wasn't really looking either. Funnily enough, my Nana boom would start a couple of months after my trip to AX. They did have a lot of mainstream J-pop CDs and DVDs though, and being an anime convention, I'm sure they'll have a fair amount of seiyuu stuff as well. I didn't see that much merchandise & memorabilia (except for MM, but they were the 'special guests' that year), but they definitely had a lot of CDs/DVDs. Of course, it's been 5 years, so who knows what they have now. One year AX also had Yui Horie as the special guest, so that's something. It'd be amazing if they snagged Nana one year, haha. Are you going in a group? How far are you from L.A.? You'll have to report back to us if you see any Nana goods (or, though this'd be a stretch, Nana cosplayers!!). You'll have a great time, though!

I live approximately 30 minutes from Downtown LA so I bought a 4-day pass! Though I doubt if I'll go all 4 days. I really am anticipating to try one of their maid cafes- but sadly you have to buy a ticket to reserve a seat cause you can bet how popular they are.
Oh my gosh, if they would ever, EVER, snag Nana to perform at AX then I'm going to die in heaven. It would be a dream come true for reals!
I'm debating on going alone or with a group of 2-3 people, because if I go alone it's not as fun but I get to explore by myself and enjoy it fullest to my expectations cause it IS my first time after all.
Plus it feels awkward when you are with your friends and you go on an expensive shopping spree... for me, at least.
I'm planning on cosplaying as Fate Testarossa! (tribute to Nana, hehe) but I'm gonna look out for any Nana related stuff!

So Anime Expo was really fun! I spent quite a bit- over 200$ on goods. Really went overboard and bought 2 figmas/1 nendoroid+ wallscrolls+commissioned art and more, but it was seriously worth it! I tried looking for Nana's Nendoroid, sadly there was none.
I'm going to edit and make a vid of everything in one or two weeks. For now I'm busy playing with my new merch!
Hehe.
