Thank you. I don't know how much i have paid for it, but i know i would have paid for it a lot less if i'd bought anything the last couple of months, with the low yen and everything. Hehehe... But those early Nana Fanclub magazines are especially hard to get by, you just have to buy them when they are coming up at yahoo auctions. And don't get me started about the fees the middleman webseite Fromjapan.co.jp would be charging for doing yahoo auctions.
The Iris photobook even still includes the poster, but i didn't take that one out for the pictures. This photobook is certainly one of my most prized possessions. Nanas enchanting naturalness is just oozing from every page. I'm also a member of her official fanclub ever since last February and thats where the card is coming from. That was made possible by the chinese webseite Kelvin Liu mentioned earlier. But I still hope that they open the fanclub for foreigners some day, maybe with some magazine bits in english. Perfume has an international fanclub, there is no excuse anymore for Nana not to have one. The youtube channel might be a first start, maybe there finally realize that euros and dollars are money, too. Kakumei Dualism was also released as a download single in every european country and the US. Maybe its the start of something.

I'm so sorry to hear about that gunsmithcat... Your very strong for getting through all that. Nana is an amazing person too and I can see why you're so dedicated to her when lots of her problems resonate in you.

WHAT?! 4 nendoroids??
Are you kidding me? How much did each of them cost?
Right now if you want to get one on Ebay, it's around 200$, and on Amazon one of these limited nendoroids are 80$ apiece.
Man. I really wanted one of those nendoroids. But the price is way too much. 50$ I'll pay; just not 80$.

^ 1-media-cdn.foolz.us/ffuuka/board/tg/image/1386/39/1386399255706.pngOkay anyways, I really want to be part of Nana's fanclub... I mean... I WANT A HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARD FROM NANA TOOOO! TT^TT Seriously, you know what sucks here in California? I'm the only person that knows Nana Mizuki exists. I've been trying to introduce her to my friends but they're all too stubborn to realize this jewel of a singer while listening to our American garbage. So I can't show off my CDs and merch (which I have little of because of money issues, I've been trying, I swear.) because nobody gives a heck. Sad panda. D: And she's still the honest and faithful girl I knew back in her Nanoha days. There's so many people I used to follow who I thought were dedicated to their beliefs, but when they got super rich and famous, turned away, became extremely materialistic after they said they weren't, and became just plain hypocrites, awful to see. But Nana has not been corrupted by fame and money. She was downright poor and abused and worked her way to where she is now. But she is minimally materialistic, as seen in her documentaries when she goes to work, she doesn't dress like a guru but quite casually, never trying to be stuck up, and when you watch her talk, laugh, and smile, she's just so natural. She's the only person who I've admired and hasn't let me down. I've lost faith in the American idol world a long time ago. My collection is quite skimpy. I only have the regular editions of every album and all the singles starting from Phantom Minds up because I've been having a bit of a monetary setback these couple of years. I'm still trying to scrounge up money to attend one of her lives but most of the time her lives interfere with my schedule way too much. Sigh. =

REALLY? KELVIN?? I really want to join her fan club but my financial problems slap me in the face saying NO. Sad face. I did have some spare change this month and I managed to grab her first press regular addition of SL. It just arrived and it's still awesome. No regrets.. TT^TT

Me too... now I know that in little Cali I am not the only endangered specie of the Nana fandom, and that there is a companion here somewhere. c:
I'm looking back at Gunsmithcat's pics... and is that a Nana car I spy..?

Only Japan.

During UD promotion there were Nana cars galore. I would SO drive one if I could. Would anyone here not? sevenpetals it is sad that even the most dedicated of anime fans don't know of her; at least that's the case in North America. I honestly thought I was the only Nana fan in New England until I met someone at my college that knew of her and liked her, but in no way was this person a fan on the caliber of any of us in this forum. We're all the shining stars of fandom within our respective regions ._. On that note, the people I try to get into Nana always have one of two responses, "Yeah she's pretty good, but I don't follow artists. I just listen to anime openings." or "She's terrible." In the latter case I wanna slap a bi*ch, and in the former case it actually pains me to know how much they're missing out on following her for realzies. There's only one person I ever truly converted to Nana-ism, and that's my best friend from Canada. She still rages at me for not considering "PHANTOM MINDS" and "Polaris" my favorite Nana songs ever XD (<3 her!)

Haha Cali and New York are the best places to be Nana fans! For example, Anime Expo is in California this year.
The state I live in has nothing like that, although I live very close to the largest Japanese community in the state, luckily. It's so cool to go into Japanese shops and know exactly what they're playing on the radio! I also go to a university that has a large asian population (10-15%) since it's the best university in the state, so thankfully I get to meet a lot of fans of Japanese culture there and even some who grew up in it.
gunsmithcat, although you deleted that post I did want to say I really did appreciate it -- I have much more respect for you after reading that and find you are a very strong person.
Strangely enough, it's the most negative experiences that sometimes make you realize what's most important and develop connections you'll cherish for a life time. I know I have songs that are very special to me because they helped me get through a rough period in my life.

Dude Stranger, it was so much pain to save up a couple hundreds of dollar to go to Anime Expo this year. Even though it's only 30 minutes away, I go to conventions to buy MERCH. That's how I roll and I'll make my wallet DO IT!
It's a real hassle to save up money for my hobbies but I strongly believe hobbies are part of who you are. They are the materialistic part of your life that reflects personality. I won't let society steal away what I love doing; i'll fight to keep my hobbies on the line! (I also do art.)
Nana and anime showed me media can have its good sides.
Hotori-kun, your friend can be my friend too! I want a friend to talk about Nana for 3 hours every single day!
I would drive a Nana car but I wouldn't because I'll dirty it.

^ LOL xD how much merch do you buy?! I remember LiSA was a main guest for 2012's but her merch wasn't particularly interesting, except for the GMD skirt that was worn by LiSA during live concerts that was auctioned off for $250 and LiSA also gave away an autographed poster with. But if you combine her merchandise with the rest that's on sale there, there's a lot to buy I'm sure...I've never been there so I can't comment on that, but I'm really curious how much they have on sale.
I think it's okay to spend a lot of money on merchandise because a) unlike something like a spring break trip, you can resell it at anytime and possibly even make money if it goes out of stock and b) as you pointed out, hobbies are a part of who you are! Just don't go broke in the process!

Ok the thing is, I doubt I'll actually spend all of what I saved for.
But I'm better safe than sorry.
Because the worst feeling is seeing a desirable purchase but you don't have enough money and that just ruins the rest of the day.
I have NEVER been to Anime Expo before but all my friends tell me there's a TON of merch there. And I'm going to be anticipating for anything to happen.
