Hehe, this is less about music and the wonderful winter/summer (for those in the southern hemisphere) weather, but I'm happy to say that I'm finally free of work and school for the holidays~ *___* I got to play and write a lot today, which made me happy. Not, to properly catch up with everything. xD

This actually happened a few days ago, but I became part of the staff of Selective Hearing! I write on my own personal blog about idol music and Selective Hearing is a website that reviews and discusses idol music and other Japanese media. I've always looked up to its writers for being so professional so to be invited to join their staff is such an honor for me!

This is a little late, but congratulations Nia! That sounds amazing. It's a great opportunity and sounds like a lot of fun~ I wish you the best of luck, and I'd love to see what you contribute to the site. As for me, erm...should feeling that I could answer a question better than one of my professors be a cause for happiness? I was amused by it nevertheless. Has anyone else ever experienced this? XD

My birthday! Well, kind of. I've been dreading them more and more in the past few years, and I really don't like making a big deal of them, but it's still nice receiving so many kind words and the like

Today I was driving home with my mom's sick friend. She asked me if i still "Liked Asian music" to which i replied "Its Japanese, not much Korean music does it for me, and chinese is currently not applicable to me (lol)" She said whatever, she wants to hear it. So i played Stardust Symphony for her, because it snowed here i felt like it and she said it was beautiful, and that Nana sounded so cute, but so professional at the same time it surprised her I don't get compliments on my music very often other than "Its good, but i wish I could understand any of it at all" so this totally made my day I was feeling pretty shitty before too, so its all good

Awww! I know that exact feeling. It's so incredibly nice to hear someone say something appreciative of the music you listen to, especially when you're used to weird looks...
What made me happy today was that i got everything I needed to do done! All my homework is done, got all the forms I needed to finalize my addition of a psychology major to go along with my English major, got my books for classes, AND I made a new friend last night! Good day.

sevenpetals - That's the best! I've had so many experiences that are just the opposite of that, haha. As in, people writing it off as soon as they hear it's japanese. But it's always great to find that one person who's open-minded enough to give it a try and is willing to take you seriously I'm happy 'cause as of now, I'm on Spring* Break! Aside from all the reading I have to do, I'm really looking forward to a week of sleeping and relaxing and video game playing *It is not nearly Spring or anything remotely close to it in Montreal. It's all a lie, really.

Aaah, I'm also happy because I've next week off. Although, it's more like a "library 9am-5pm everyday" kind of holiday because my dissertation is due at the end of April. D: I'm moaning, but the question I'm doing is really exciting - although I think I have too much I want to say!! Although, I DO get to watch all of Revolutionary Girl Utena again this week, and it's work! I took a module this semester called Japanese Film, History and Fantasy... and my lecturer said it's totally okay to do an essay on shojo. Such hard work...!
