I am now 20. I want to be a teenager forever. Slowly realising I'm not immortal.
My flatmates all celebrated by buying me tons of Hello Kitty, just to help remind me that I don't have to act my age if I don't want to. Hello Kitty jelly beans? Yummm.
Though, in 12 hours I have the worst exam ever and I'm freaking out. I just looked at a past paper and could do...NO QUESTIONS. fml. Please have questions on Disraeli's Jewish identity, whether he was an opportunist and the Bulgarian atrocities. IT'S ALL I KNOW.
Gonna go cry to Miliyah Kato songs instead of being productive.

Oh who cares about age! No longer than 3 hours ago I, who's turning 25 in a month, was looping Zankou no Gaia and singing along while my partner, who's 28, was watching Tales from the Crypt on the nearby computer. That's what we call "working" ;D What is it to be an adult really?

20s are going to be the best years of your life. Old enough to have full control over your life Young enough to have the ambition and energy to pursue what you want (and at the peak of your physical attractiveness)

I hope so, I'm just stuck in that "oh my gosh I graduate in a year what am I doing" rut right now!
I've decided that I like tumblr, I posted my thoughts on something, and while some people just added the whole picture+gif response and people disagreeing stupidly, some people have reblogged with really good stuff added. Stuff I didn't think of or missed. ♥
I want someone to disagree with meeee, but do it properly and not just say "UMNOKAYBYE -gif-", because you know, life is no fun if we think the same... I just want you to express yourself properly.

Happy belated birthday, relmy! I turned 20 earlier this year and... erm, am eagerly awaiting the whole "best years of your life" part to start. Let's just leave it at that :XD

I hope so, I'm just stuck in that "oh my gosh I graduate in a year what am I doing" rut right now! People spend too much worrying about what they want to do instead of actually going out there and finding things to do. Admittedly, I used to have the same problem. My life story is too long to fit into a forum post, but I'll summarize the gist of my experiences in the event that you may find reading them useful to alleviating your college graduation anxieties. I used to spend all my time playing video games or mindlessly browsing the internet (an experience you may or may not be familiar with). Now I'm not saying those activities are a complete waste of time, and I can identify a few tangible benefits I've gained from doing them. But I was tired of not having any purpose nor direction in my life and worrying about the future. I decided to make a change during college.
The most useful realization I came to during my time in college was how worrying is just about the least productive and the most idle thing to do. Instead of worrying about and imagining what I should do, I went and started doing things. In my first 2 years, I've dedicated a lot of effort to activities and self-learning in fields such as breakdancing, student politics, poker, magic//card flourishing, public speaking, entrepreneurship//business startup, game theory, economics, and various finance related sub-topics. There's a few that I'm probably forgetting to mention.
I just did as much as I could, enjoying every triumph and learning from every mistake. This time in my life is marked by LOTS of failure, but has also made me appreciate success. It was a process of discovering what I had a passion for and what activities didn't fit my personality. I also came out of each experience with tangible skills, and improved confidence.
Now in my third year, I've narrowed down my interests so I can master the ones I enjoy the most. I'm also picking up some new activities such as learning Japanese. Three years ago I used to fear and worry about what I would do with my life, and now I'm confident enough to have decided to graduate from college a year early.
The key takeaway is that YOU are in more control of YOUR LIFE than you may realize. Get rid of fear, ego, anxiety, worry and JUST DO IT. You can't succeed until you fail. If you've graduated and still haven't found a passion, it's okay to settle for the most suitable job you can find while continuing to pursue your interests.
Some tips: - Find friends who are as equally as ambitious who can help motivate you when things get tough. Stay away from people who complain all the time and cry about the most insignificant things. Some of my best and most inspirational friendships were built completely online (whom I've later met IRL). Stick to people with strong character and good attitudes as it will rub off on you.
- When learning something new, learn from the best and most competent people you can find. This is really easy to do in college because there are clubs for just about everything that have people who are well-specialized in those activities. If you want to enhance your knowledge about a field of study, arrange a meeting with professors. Be extremely humble and express your desire to learn to those who are better than you.
- Don't be let failures discourage you and don't get angry at factors you cannot control. Don't linger on any mistake for too long and just continue plowing through.
The world is a very open-ended place. How you want to live it is up to you. The only true mistake in life is living a life you're not happy with living.
Wow I feel like I just wrote a guide on how to live life lol.

Breivik approves :good Sorry I'm too lazy to make a picture ;D Anyway, my story is almost exact opposite of yours. During school and institute days I was doing so many different things and had plenty of "friends" (sorry can't name majority of ppl hanging around with you friends =\) and now I'm sitting at the computer almost 24\7 =) How did that happen? Well let's see... I think my personality is to blame. I'm getting bored of things way too fast. I don't remember an activity that remained fun for me for more than a year... But most of those activities require a group of ppl and those ppl will eventually grow to depend on you in a way. Since I don't like to disappoint ppl I found myself doing many things that quit being entertaining long ago but I'm tied to them by others. That included friendship as well. I was changing interests way to fast for ppl around me to catch up so they stayed behind and I realized that there's no point in getting new ones who share my current interests since I'll most likely drop them in half a year or so and they will bother me trying to get me interested again. So that's how I got rid of all friends and now I'm perfectly alone which allows me to do anything I like and to drop it the moment it's not fun anymore. And I'm happy with it ;D Plus it's fun to see how someone starts to pitying me finding out I have no friends Sometime in the future such lifestyle will also become not fun, but this time is yet to come. Or maybe it won't come at all, who knows, life is such a fragile thing

haksawActually our personality is much more alike than you may think. Like you, I cycle through activities and friends fairly quickly and flexibly. My difference is that I'm constantly meeting new awesome people to make up for the friends that I grow away from. I don't think it's a waste of time to make new friends even if I'll eventually leave them. I try to befriend people who are the best people I can find in a given activity and learn from them as much as possible while I'm still interested. My university (University of Southern California) has a diverse group of students who come from all around the United States, and also one of the highest rates of international students. With the awesome technology of Facebook, I can virtually maintain ties with a lot of these people and will very likely know someone wherever I may decide to travel. Although I love to meet people, I'm also happy when I'm alone too. I've been through extreme periods of introversion and extroversion trying to figure out what was best for me. Instead, I realized that there's no right or wrong way to live, and that the most important thing is to be happy with the choices you make for yourself.

Two says of sunshine and warm weather, finally! This is probably our summer though.
On the downside, I have all my exams next week... so again, when it's sunny, I'm stuck indoors "studying".
and people wonder why I'm always grumpy lol

This thread annoys me so much -_- I'm so rarely feeling happy yet I need a place to chat about some stupid unessential things and this is pretty much the only topic for this >< Let's see... My last birthday was almost a success, since I managed to reduce family budget damage from that annoying tradition to this. And it's not even that useless since it's a mug and the more mugs I have the more times I can take them from kitchen without needing to bring them back. Plus it has Nana on it, so now she's pretty hot from time to time. And by hot I mean really hot ;D Oh I also got a figurine of an old pervert cut from wood by my uncle so it cost him nothing and now composition "Careless young maiden and an old pervert" is finally complete! Anyway, that's boring. Let's move to something closer to happiness =) Watch the connection here! The other day I was ripping Albireo from some concert DVD and thought "wtf is this anyway, the title makes even less sense than usual!" So I googled it and found out that it's a star. Then I, of course, watched this for about 20 times (if you haven't seen it before for some reason watch it around 100 times, otherwise 10-20 is ok) and wondered where the hell did she even learn about that star? Does she look on the stars so much? And even if she does, why she knows their names? Maybe she likes going to planetarium? Wait... Did you say planetarium?! That instantly reminded me of an epic win of truly galactic proportions delivered by our very own Moscow Planetarium less than 2 week ago ;D Sooo... Guys at planetarium were like: - Damn, those mindless peasants never come here to learn smth, they better drink vodka and watch TV their whole useless lives, how can we save them from their misery? And ourselves, of course, so we can have money to drink vodka ourselves! - Well, I dono... Let's make a free of charge doors open day? - And how the hell will it help us to drink vodka dumbass?! - Not that it'll be much worse, no one comes here anyway... - Ummm... Ooookaaaay... Let's do it! Behold the result: AHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!!!!!!!1111111 Damn, I haven't laughed like this for quite some time!! In case you've forgotten, it's the entrance to the planetarium. Fcking PLANETARIUM AHAHAHAA!!!!!! Swearings, screams of mashed children oh what a music to my ears ;D Second only to Nana really ;D Guys climbing over the fence with damn spikes on top of it to get into PLANETARIUM Ohhh hell I'm gonna die from laughter. And I was just getting bored once those election meetings ended. Sadly you most likely can't extract lulz from the shitstorm followed, but videos are quite satisfactory by themselves ;D Even the example of Giordano Bruno didn't tell those idiots that astronomy is not for the weak lol

Bought tickets to see Marina and the Diamonds live in October - so excited. I'm also finally going to Paris and Versailles. Decided to go myself because all my friends are boring and content with staying in this dump of town over the summer. Then I'm probably going to Edinburgh or Dublin in late July/early August - yay!
I've also taken up running, and getting back into crocheting.
This is what happens when I have too much free time lol
