When you look at it now it sure is. But back then she used it as a plan B when she wasn't needed as a singer anywhere. So it was a little detour And if she had been given a chance to choose she would definitely choose to become a singer rather than seiyu. If you ask her now I don't know what she'll answer though...

She says it's both equally important for her, and I believe those words. If she had to choose one of these, she would most definitely choose to be a singer, but she would also feel very frustrated that she had to give up being a seiyuu.

yap most of the shows ask her this qn before "which do u prefer?" she mostly say 1/2 1/2....or totally cant give up either 1 of them....because also since young she also like manga n anime...n also love to try voice acting XD *even is abit hard to be good at...last time her voice acting skill havent master it yet XP*
EDIT: oh ya 1 more thing...is very good to show that she doing seiyuu work ^.^;; because theres 1 show where she shared that if she only being a singer.....the schedule will be blank, it would be like a forever summer vacation, which is very scary ^.^;;;; like nothing to do lol

Well of course she does. What else can she answer? But I'm talking not about nowadays, but back then in 1998 if she got 2 contracts at once her choice would be obvious and who knows if she ever would become a seiyu once debuted as a singer. Oh they always find what to do... Check yellow press

Kind of irrelevant to bring up what 1998-Nana would have done. People change as do their opinions and desires and aspirations. I believe Nana's being genuine when she says it's half-half or that she values each the same. I don't think ti was an "unlucky turn of events", if she didn't want to be a seiyuu she wouldn't have... smiple as that. :^^ I do agree though that one of her big successes is going from where she was then to where she is now... she realyl was just an ordinary girl but she overcame so much!Even now she doesn't have that "starlet" persona... she's just a being of pure talent. Respect.

Oh really :nin There are so many people who do what they don't want. She maybe did want to become a seiyu as well, but what if she failed there too? She most definitely would be forced to do smth she didn't want But we strayed a little. The whole point was she earned part of her titles in a bit unfair competition bringing her professional singer training to a seiyu fight

Becoming a seiyuu definitely helped Nana, it helped take her out of her circumstances that were a hindrance to her success and gave her a very tiny foot in the door of becoming a singer.
Becoming a seiyuu didn't mean should would 100% become a singer, but based on what she said (she was the only one with full attendance at the school), she just wasn't getting the singing opportunities.
Better to try at being a seiyuu and fail than never take the chance. But she didn't fail, and it allowed her to become a singer.
...how is that at all a bad thing?

Oh yeah, there's that qq question or something which asked her which between her seiyuu and singing career would she choose to do for the rest of her life. And she was like EHHH!? Then, became saying that to make her choose just one is soo mean. lolol at her reaction It was also noted that she and Gaga were the only one to choose both (because they're supposed to choose only one).
