By the way hot0rikun967, is there any difference in the placing of Ai no Hoshi and Ai no Hoshi -two hearts-?

Vívace, although I do prefer the original, "-two hearts-" doesn't change the placing of the song all that much. Similarly, "2007" doesn't change the placing of "TRANSMIGRATION" all that much. If anything, it enhances it. Remakes only ever seem to make me appreciate the original songs more ^_^

Aww I feel all cool now ^///^ Thanks guys! stranger The MUSEUM STYLE of "Justice to Believe" would still place the song at #5 because whether or not I listen to the original or the MUSEUM STYLE is just dependent on my mood. I'll usually listen to MS after listening to a super epic song like "Avalon no Oukan" or something. With regards to "SUPER GENERATION -MUSEUM STYLE-", though, that version actually bumped the original up to second place. I always loved the song, and it was never out of my top 10, but I gained a whole new appreciation for it with the release of "THE MUSEUM II" and its rearrangement was an unexpected, incredibly cherished surprise. The whole song has become a very important kind of mantra for me, providing me a sense of indescribable stability and peace. So, think of the #2 ranking of "SUPER GENERATION" as encompassing both versions of the song, much as the #5 ranking of "Justice to Believe" can encompass its "MUSEUM STYLE", too (although SG -MS- had more of an impact on me). I might make a top 200 or 300 and include character songs/non-major discography stuff at some point, or simply rank all of her non-major stuff in a separate list (that list including only solo vocal credits or duets because SISTER PRINCESS stuff and Prits songs don't have Nana as their focus, whereas one could argue "Preserved Roses", "Kakumei Dualism", and "Egao no Yukue" do). Me and my rules XD We think a lot alike! SG-MS- is my go-to song whenever I'm feeling down, because it's impossible to be in a bad mood while listening to it. It almost trivializes whatever problems I was having since it's so tranquil. Sorry but I have one more question too. How exactly did you go about compiling this list? I'm a very technical person so I always have a hard time ranking songs...it's saying one song is better than the other but why? And the list differs depending on when you do it too, like for you WILD EYES took a huge tumble on the chart. So it's really difficult but I'm sure I'm looking into it way too much haha. It's the reason my SL review has yet to be published...rating/ranking a song like GUILTY is so difficult to me because there are parts of the song that are so out there and I hate yet it's so catchy and Nana's vocals are spot on...so I can't really assign a fair rating because my mood for the song is always changing.

I ranked all of Nana PV's, since that was much easier! Favorite songs is a long ways away from being done. I simply ranked it by which PV's I liked watching most and would want to watch again. How much I liked the song does have a factor in it, but it's far from the only factor. For example, I love Synchrogazer, but its position on the list is very low. 47. アノネ~まみむめ☆もがちょ~46. Brilliant Star45. Love & History 44. ミラクル☆フライト43. cherish42. RUSH&DASH!41. WILD EYES40. innocent starter39. 空と心と38. Synchrogazer37. ETERNAL BLAZE36. アオイイロ35. SECRET AMBITION34. POP MASTER33. Preserved Roses32. パノラマ-Panorama-31. New Sensation30. What cheer?29. suddenly ~巡り合えて~28. Heaven Knows27. still in the groove26. MASSIVE WONDERS25. 深愛24. 夢幻23. 革命デュアリズム22. POWER GATE21. 残光のガイア20. 悦楽カメリア19. Phantom Minds18. 純潔パラドックス17. Crystal Letter16. ミュステリオン15. BRIGHT STREAM14. アパッショナート13. Trickster12. Astrogation11. Discotheque10. SCARLET KNIGHT 9. METRO BAROQUE 8. Vitalization 7. 恋してる... 6. SUPER GENERATION 5. Silent Bible 4. COSMIC LOVE3. Orchestral Fantasia 2. Lovely Fruit 1. Justice to Believe

^ooo that sounds fun, but I think that would be even more difficult for me o.o (also I LOVE your font increase XD). I was uber surprised to see "Koishiteru..." so high on the list! really cool! Also I was happy "Appassionato" was pretty high. I thought it was a spectacular PV :3 Poor "Mamimume Mogacho", but can we even count that as a PV? ._. so. . .not very good at the promoting part hahahaha XD stranger, to answer your previous question, you're not looking into it too much. There's a reason that it took me 2 years to compile this list. When RN came out, I was determined to rework my list, but I found that RN was such a difficult album to work with because I had so much trouble deciding which tracks were my favorite and which weren't. They required a lot of listens. For example, "Kiseki no Melodia" was so forgettable to me at first, but it certainly made its mark on the updated list. The list was compiled after allowing myself to do two specific things: 1.) listen to all of Nana's songs extensively over the course of many years, adding up to many, many, many hours of listening time. That was the easy part. 2.) stop psyching myself out and trying to convince myself that I liked certain songs more than I actually did. For the longest time, "POWER GATE", "ETERNAL BLAZE", and "MASSIVE WONDERS" were in the top 10, and they showed no signs of leaving those positions: the former two because they're Nana staples, the latter one because it had just been my second favorite Nana song for the longest time. But after having the barren year that was 2013 to really get a feel for what songs I listened to more than others/which songs I truly enjoyed more than others, I realized that I didn't enjoy those three songs as much as I had convinced myself I did, or that I once did. I love every song on the list. I love the majority of them, even those below the top 100, more than I love my first favorite songs of other artists. So, I still love PG, EB, and MW, but there are other songs I just realized I found myself singing more, humming more, listening to more, skipping less. Also, I didn't find "SUPERNAL LIBERTY" all that difficult to rank. There were some really high highs, no lows, and the rest were pretty darn good. No song really got lost for me in terms of position after listening to the album for a month now. First impressions of songs changed, yes, but I am very content with how the final ranking of the new tracks played out. Contrasty, ranking RN was incredibly difficult upon first listen and for months to come. I really needed that whole year of 2013 to process that album. So here we are now in 2014. I'm a really technical person, too, and so compiling the list was an actual process with steps. I decided to rank all of the songs on Nana's albums individually (best songs of SL, RN, IE, UD etc.), all of her B-sides in a separate list, and all of her singles in a separate list. Then, from all of those lists, I went about selecting my top 100. With my favorites of each category laid out in front of me, it was much easier to choose 100 songs than if I was to look at all 196 of them in one list. I would select the songs in 10s, put them in another list, and rank them amongst each other. Then i would transfer those 10 to the final list. I would continue this process until all 196 songs had been ranked. This only took a matter of three days because the process really helped with stopping myself from convincing myself that I liked certain songs more than others. I really got to look at each song much more individually this way, so none of them got lost amongst Nana's "big" songs such as EB, PG, etc. It was fun, too, to realize just how much I loved and appreciated songs such as "Last Scene", "FEARLESS HERO", and "Fun Fun People". The character song list may take a lot longer, however, because I haven't had years to listen to all of her character songs given I had just recently come across her much older ones.

The all songs ranking is really impressive. I'm still trying to do a top 30 and finding it hard enough. I put together one, and thought 'that was easy!', but I keep changing it. D:
Maybe I need to use a method like yours. I don't think I'll be taking on a top all-songs though, too lazy for that. I might stretch myself to a top 50 haha

hot0rikun967Hotori-kun, I blame you so much for letting me now love FEARLESS HERO. The song didn't have any impact on me at all for literally a year and a half before but when I saw your list I tried to listen to it again. And surprise, surprise, I fell in love with it. I'm going to redo my 30s list next year again because I have a feeling it's going to change a lot. And I feel you on how some songs have great first impressions but lose longevity. For example, when Ai no Hoshi first came out, I immediately shoved that in my Top 10 cause the first impression was amazing. However, I found myself no longer listening to it anymore a month after Vitalization came out. Therefore, it got bumped down to probably my 40s and 50s. For me, ETERNAL BLAZE and POWER GATE and SUPER GENERATION don't stick. I know they're the Nana trademark singles and I really gave these songs a change and I tried very hard to like them. Same with POP MASTER. However, somehow I didn't get a love for those songs, as great as they are, and they're probably in my 60s-70s. I realized that most of my favorites are 2010< and maybe it's just me that prefers that symphonic and hard rock style much more. SL easily goes on par with IE for me because of mainly VIRGIN CODE, Aishuu Twilight, and the implementations of jazz. I adore Nana's experimentation albums, for personal preferences.

I think ill make a top 50 list.... but today i realized something about myself.
I just went to my ipd and my 25 most played songs are surprising... I think i betray my own thoughts when i subconsciously scroll for music. The most exciting songs do not really end up to be the ones i relate to the most or feel the closest to. Sometimes the catchiest song or the most musically perfect song is not actually the one u love.
My #1 song played on my ipod EVER is Nostalgia from Great Activity... Followed by Crescent Child from RN. But just thinking, i would only rate Nostalgia @ like 40/50. Crescent Child maybe 10/50.
Listening to Nostalgia now and remembering the lyrics, its truly a song that sums up my life. If im going to make this list im gonna give myself time to just naturally listen to songs that i relate to and base it off that, rather than songs that i think are really really good and enjoying to listen to-- because the songs i relate to NEVER get old and they become a part of me.
Excuse my random personal rant, lol.

^ Oooh...another list! Top played songs! I think Nostalgia is very high on mine too, for two reasons 1) it's really short 2) it's really easy to listen to over and over. It's not my favorite Nana song but I just really enjoy it every time I hear it. I'd like to see you make your top 50 soon...I love Crescent Child a lot so I'm happy to see it's so high up!
hot0rikun967, that's so impressive you were able to come up with that! I'm going to try that method when I eventually make mine. The point you and Vivace brought up about the old classics is another problem I had generating the list. I didn't become a Nana fan until 08/09 and not a dedicated one until around 10/11, so I feel like I have to fight a bias I have for her material from around that time. Namely, Rockbound Neighbors was an incredibly enjoyable time for me so I can see a lot of songs very high up on my all-time list. I wasn't around for albums like Supersonic Girl so it may have been really special if I had came across her then. But, like you said, I guess I just have to admit I enjoy some songs more than others, and that includes a lot of her older songs I don't listen to that much. I put Dream Skipper in my car the other day and to be completely honest...hearing some of those songs was almost like the first time I heard them, it's been that long since I never gave them a chance. So I'm going to revisit her old albums and then her old DVD's before I make my list just in case, but like you said, I'm not going to try to make myself enjoy them more than her recent material, even if they are classics.

I love how I've inspired this surge of head-clearing! Clouded judgment and bias is a list-makers worst nightmare! Good luck to both of you on your spiritual journeys through Nana clarity! !!

My most played:
25. NEXT ARCADIA 24. Albireo 23. (not nana) 22. PHANTOM MINDS 21. Chronicle of Sky 20. FEARLESS HERO (newest edition to this list I might add) 19. Heart-Shaped Chant 18. Preserved Roses -anime version- (wat) 17. (not nana) 16. NAKED FEELS 15. FLIGHT FEATHERS 14. LINKAGE 13. Vitalization 12. Chinmoku no Kajitsu (hmm) 11. (not nana) 10. VIRGIN CODE 9. Aishuu Twilight 8. Ai no Hoshi 7. Etsuraku Camellia 6. Don't be Long 5. Get my Drift? 4. Crescent Child 3. (not nana) 2. Kakumei Dualism 1. Koi no Yokushiryoku
Pulled directly out of my iTunes library. Ok well #1 and #2 were expected, since I would add Kakumei to my top 30s list but I don't acknowledge her collabs to be part of Nana's major discography so I left TM stuff and chara songs out of my list. It doesn't match up on my 30s list but I can tell I did like Rockbound Neighbors more than I thought I did, hehe. No idea how anime version of Roses got there though... maybe I fell asleep and that happened to be playing.

Hmmm... my most played Nana track in iTunes is Avalon no Oukan, but it updated/restarted playcounts right before Rockbound Neighbours came out, and I generally listen to full albums on my laptop, hence the high count for Avalon no Oukan. I reset my last.fm last month too - so that doesn't help with assessing the plays from my mp3. It mostly just mirrors my iTunes at the moment from uploading the plays. :/ My mp3 listening habits (via last.fm) are probably a better indication than my iTunes alone.
My most played was probably Mugen though. Or Justice to Believe.
