Because we all need some escapism every now and again. Use this thread to post a beautiful picture/video/description of somewhere on our planet you'd like to be right now. Love to see what you guys post! Having a bout of seasonal depression so I'd love to be somewhere with clear skies, clear water, and clear air.

I want to be around an old castle right now, especially of the Baroque style. Don't ask me why. Versailles would be nice...but it has to be empty! For atmosphere sake!

I want to go to Versailles so much. I was meant to go over the summer but I ran out of cash before Paris. The amount of people there would probably ruin my dreams of pretending I'm a rouge revolutionary having an affair with a servant of the ancien regime...
I've never been to Paris either, which is weird as it's like... a train journey or cheap flight away lol

Those other places seem so peaceful and quiet, even that port city somehow. A little removed, a little different from the typical scenery, and a little bit more like paradise. Or at least from a populated urban standpoint they seem that way. I kind of want to hide away in the last one, it would be a great place to get away from all the cold and studying... I'd love to visit the Cambodian Ruins, every time I think of them the little historian in me squeals in delight. (I also maybe should've resized this. XD)

I've always wanted to throw some sort of ruins party... I know that sounds a little strange but I'd love to just take my friends out to one on a summer night and string the place with lights and play some music and have fun

"Glowing bioluminescent plankton in the tide line washes up onto a beach on Vaadhoo Island, Raa Atoll, Maldives, with stars above and a ship's lights on the horizon." How pretty would it be to go there during this phenomenon? ;D

Who did that art installation? I think my friend went to see it when it was in London, she said it was amazing!
That's if it's the same thing?

That is gorgeous. *___* Such a magical thing to encounter on a pitch black night. Apparently this was set up a few days ago at Nabana no Sato a botanical garden on Nagashima, but there isn't an information on who did the installation. It's possible that they hired the person who did it in London, or were inspired by it, though I think there's more information on the official website. There's a small article on the installation here: www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/nabana-no-sato-tunnel-japanThe pictures from the article make the whole thing seem even more phenomenal.

Ah, no it's not the same thing. It's... almost totally different to what my friend went too! She went to see a famous art installation, that was based on lights and by a Japanese artist, and my brain went Japan + lights = what my fried saw. ;^^ www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/2012/feb/12/yayoi-kusama-tate-modern-reviewOops at me not knowing my modern art... at all. What she went to see is a really famous piece. Hahaha I want to see both though, the light tunnel looks perfect for an autumn or early Winter night, and the art piece looks stunning, a slightly disappointed that I didn't go with her!
