So far I'm not excited nor disappointed about WHAT YOU WANT since it's very Nana-ish and simular to her other generic pop rock work. I kinda compare this song to Setsuna Capacity in the way that both songs have like, an intro of a few seconds that are really captivating and interesting, but then it drops into something more simple (sadly). I'm excited for the Nana Mamo collab though! NEVER SURRENDER sounds like a more interesting single to me with song titles like Nageki No Hana and Searchlight. I'm really looking forward to these songs! I'm hoping Searchlight is leaning towards the Phantasm territory, because that song is so soothing. And I'm not even sure what to expect with Nageki No Hana.

Hey, just saw this on the full version video title:7日間限定
This roughly translates to "Available for 7-days"
D-Does this mean it will get removed/set it to private later??
If true, then we are doomed. King Records, please don't do this to us 😭😭

I mean, you need to look at it from a marketing point. Since more people are online nowadays and not watching TV they probably figured the short PVs aren't doing enough. And uploading the full version online actually gives us all, especially international fans a fair chance to see it more easily than to have to look around on sketchy Japanese or Chinese websites we can hardly understand... (I'm speaking for me, not for all of us, lol) It's sad it will go down after 7 days, but hey, they are giving us enough time to download it through a youtube to MP4 converter website, haha

Finally got around to listen to this. It's a decent single, nothing like super impressed me. I think all 3 of the b-sides are better than What you Want though! Birth of Legend was better than expected, duo was kind of generic for a duo... I think my faves go Hungry Hungry > Birth of Legend > Kekkai > What You Want
What You Want isn't as bad as like... Starting Now or Angel Blossom (to name some recent a-sides I got bored of very quickly or never liked) I'll give it a B-

My opinions on the single:
1. WHAT YOU WANT: For me, this is a song like "Lazy Syndrome" where it sounds better the louder you turn up the volume. I can get more immersed in the song then. I feel like my previous comment on this song still applies to an extent: it would sound awesome if they made this a little more gritty, a little more rock. Like Loro described, it's not impressive or disappointing, your typical pop/rock song. It's good for what it is, but in Nana's huge discography, it doesn't standout. Rating: B
Mizuki Nana feat. Miyano Mamoru - Kekkai (結界; Barrier): This song is stunning and may be my favorite of all the songs on this EP. I love the ethnic feel and instruments chosen for this song. The song has a nice buildup to the an extremely fulfilling, powerful chorus. The use of Miyano Mamoru is superb -- I was expecting them to overuse him and give him half of the song because of who he is. Instead they kept his use to a minimum, to where it only makes sense, and because of that, I feel like his presence added a lot to the song instead of being a distraction. This is so A-side material and I would've preferred this as her "hit" collab song over the generic "Preserved Roses", but you can't always get WHAT YOU WANT... Rating: A
Birth of Legend: What a lovely little intro! When I listen to this song, I envision myself about to embark on some sort of adventure. Oddly, I think of Wind Waker for some reason, about to sail out for something unexpected, and excited for what lies ahead. The song is uplifting and fun. Like a lot of the songs on this EP, the melodies have mostly been done before, but it's OK, it is effective in this case. The background Nana's ("woah woah woah woah") are very adorable, too. I am put in a good mood instantly when listening to this. Rating: A-
Hungry Hungry: This is SUCH a troll song on first impression. Did she just say "Hungry hungry can't wait anymore!!!" It's so out there and quirky, which makes it a nice addition to an EP where, for the most part, you hear your standard melodies. I typically do not like the electro-pop songs compared to her other songs in her discography, but it's impossible for me not to like this. Even though it's fun, I don't think it's as catchy as, say, "SUPER MAN", but it's certainly unique. This one could go up in rating for me overtime. Rating: B
Overall: Very impressed by the EP. WHAT YOU WANT is a little below expectations when it comes to some of the strong A-sides we received recently (Kindan no Resistance, Eden, Destiny's Prelude), but the whole EP itself actually exceeds my expectations thanks to its impressive B-sides. Definitely worth a purchase and one of her better singles overall.
